Tips for making larger maallongs / 太い毛糸でmaallongを作るときのTips

最近シリーズとして制作しているmaallong。見本は主に中細の糸を使っていますが、piggiesagogoのパターンは基本的にどの太さの糸でも制作できるようになっています。

ただ、maallongは足にモールを使うので、太い糸で制作した場合はもしかしたら適当な太さのモールが見つからないかもしれません。そういう場合のために足の作り方のTipsを作りました。ご参考になさってください。

Here’s some tips for making maallongs with heavy eight yarns.

Making without pipe cleaners / モールを使わない場合

ちょっと雰囲気の変わった仕上がりになります。足は短めの方がバランスがいいかも。

体のSec3（ここまでは各キャラクターの編み方は基本的に一緒です）を編み終わった後、そのまま続けてぐるぐると足を編んでいきます。1段は7目です。写真は5段編んでいます。色を変えてもOKです。

お好きな長さまで編んだら、最後の段は以下のように編んでください。

引き抜き編み1目、鎖編み1目、後ろの鎖だけ編む細編み6目：最後に鎖編みに引き抜いて終わる

綿を詰めて編み終わりをとじます。
見本は毛足の長いモールを尻尾に使いました。

After finishing Sec3 (common for all maallongs, ) continuew working in the round. 7 sts for 1 row. Sample is made from 5 rows.
After finishing row numbers your prefer, work the last row:

1 sl st, ch 1, 6 sc blo and sl st in the 1st ch to join ends together.

Stuff the leg and weave the ends.

With pipe cleaners / モールを使う場合

こちらのほうが普通のmaallongと似た仕上がりになります。

普通サイズのmaallongと同様にモールを2本用意し、折りたたみながらねじっていきます。このとき、体のサイズにあった長さで折りたたむのをやめます。見本はちょうど中細で編んだときの2倍くらいの高さになったので、10cmの長さに作ってあります。
写真では毛足の長いモールを使っていますが、毛足の短いものでもワイヤーの強度はほとんど変わらないので大丈夫です。

Using 2 pipe cleaners as same as usual maallongs. Twist and fold them. Stop folding when the length comes suitable for the body. Sample length is 10 cm.
I used long haired pipe cleaner, but shorter haired also works.

ねじり終わった足を「く」の字に曲げます。そして、この足のちょうど半分くらいまでくる長さに足を編みます。写真では6目で初めて10段グルグルと編んだものを使用しました。編み終わったら糸端を長めに残して切り、モールに被せます。中がぶかぶかしてしまうようだったら、モールに手芸綿を巻いてからかぶせるようにしてください。

Fold it as “>” . Starting with an adjustable ring, work 6 sts in the round. I made 10 rows for sample. this work needs to be half length of the pipe cleaner leg. Cover pipe cleaner. If pipe cleaner is too thin, wrap it with stuffing.

maallongの足を入れる穴にモールを入れます。このとき裸のモールが余ってしまうようだったら、先端を折りまげるなどして納めます。

Insert naked pipe cleaner to the body hole. If pipe cleaner is too long for the hole, fold it and make it firmly inserted.

足の糸端を使ってからだととじ合わせます。

Weave leg and body together.

最後に足の先を軽く折り曲げます。

Fold the toe.

同様にして尻尾も作れます。見本では6目で始めて17段グルグルと編んだものをモールに被せ、お尻に刺してから縫いとじています。

You can make tail as same. Sample is made with 6sts and 17 rows.
